Reflection

I really like how my art projects turned out this semester. I learned how when you paint you can make different textures by using the back of your paint brush, or adding salt. I also learned when we did the color wheel, when we did the experiments it gave me lots of ideas to put in my water color painting. My favorite project that we did was the zentangle. I liked how with that project you could start out with a simple idea, and add little designs & turn it into something big. The scratchboard was another one of my favorites, because it was a challenge coloring the opposite things in. I didn't want to do the oil pastel drawing at first, but when I was finished it actually looked really good. The thing I didn't like about using the oil pastels was that the pastels would smear, and I would have to go back and redo some parts of the picture. My least favorite project would be the self portrait painting. I didn't like drawing a picture of myself then putting it into the posterize effect. I enjoyed using the scratch tools, paint, and oil pastels. I would like to use those again for second semester.

Self Portrait Painting

This is a self portrait painting I did of myself. I used a pencil and some paint. I don't like doing posterize, so I didn't really enjoy this project. When I put myself in the posterize it made myself really black.. I would like to do this project over like nature or something else other than myself.

Water Color Painting

This is a water color painting that I did. I used a mechanical pencil, water color paint, and paint brushes. I learned that you can make different textures with the paint just by adding salt. I liked how the flower turned out, and the water around it. I didn't like how when I would drop a color on a part of the painting it would make it messy & I would have to go back and color over it. If I could change anything about it, it would be the subject, I would draw some other piece of nature.

Oil Pastel Fruit Drawing

This is an oil pastel drawing. I used a mechanical pencil to draw it out, then I colored in/shaded it with oil pastels. I learned how if you used some of the similar colors like browns, reds, oranges & yellows then you can make the drawing look really good when you shade & mix them together. I liked how I thought this would turn out bad but it actually turned out really cool. I didn't like how after I was done smearing & I would touch a spot in my project that the color would smear on to it, so I had to go back over it & redo it which I didn't like.

Zentangle

This is my 2nd zentangle drawing I had to do in black & white. I used a pencil to draw this our then I colored it with a black sharpie & a fine tip sharpie.I learned that if take a simple idea & make little doodles & keep doing it, it can turn into something really cool. I liked this project cause it was fun, & it turned out pretty good. I didn't like that it took a long time.

Zentangle

This is my zentangle art, I drew it out in mechanical pencil then used for the designs inside the monster colored sharpies, & for the guy I used a charcoal pencil. I learned how if you just make little doodles, it can turn into something big, & turn out really cool. I got this idea from a different artist, & kind of made it my own, that's what I liked about this. There wasn't anything I really didn't like about this project.

Scratchboard Art

This is a piece of scratchboard art I made, & I used the a scratch tool to create it. I learned how to do the opposite of what I should scratch out. I didn't like how it took a long time, & how sometimes if I would scratch to hard it would take out some of the paper. I think that it turned out really cool in the end.

Pointilism/Line drawing

This is a drawing I drew using a mechanical pencil & ball point sharpie pen. I learned how to use pointilism as a different way to shade, & make an object pop out. I really liked how I chose pointilism for the grass, because it turned out actually looking really cool.

Still Life Shading .

This was a still life drawing I drew using charcoal & a white eraser, & fus to shade. I learned how to shade when the light reflects off an object. I liked how the glass bottle turned out, but I didn't like how the flowers looked when I was finished.
